Boombox is a musical instrument concept pointing towards robust, nearly violent, physical interaction with computer music interfaces.  It has been performed as a solo instrumental, as part of dance performances and presented as an interactive gallery work.  The box contains an array of wirelessly interfaced sensors to detect impulse, orientation, surface pressure, handle position, and wheel rotation on the box.  All sensor signals are also available as analog signals for amplification and direct playing of the box.
