A surveillance art piece giving visitors the opportunity to alter their own video image, captured and displayed by standard surveyllance camera and monitor equipment.  By dialing in with their cell phones, visitors are invited to consciously break the surveillance capture/display loop.  Part of a group show at Spanish Harlem's Medianoche, curated by Monica Nunez Laiseca.

Surveillance cameras control people’s movements and actions. Their presence transforms the passerby into an involuntary actor with predictable behavior. In this installatio that mechanism is broken. His camera sits on a window sil, close to a black and white monitor.  The camera can be directed to the street or to the interior, so people can see themselves on the monitor and view their captured image.  In calling a prescribed phone number, their words, and the sounds they create, created distortions and ripples in the rendered image on the screen.
